đď¸ SAVE THE DATE!
Weâre hosting a free 3 day connect challenge starting on Monday, January 8th.
The mission: Eat whole plant foods for 3 days.
The result: The start of better overall health including lower inflammation, better gut health, and an inspiring time to connect the food we eat to how we feel both physically and mentally. The best part? Doing it together.
Why? Because starting is often the hardest part.
The menu: Whole grains, legumes, seasonal veggies and fruit.
All you need to do is save the date in your calendar (add it in there, right now: Jan 8, 9, 10) and watch for the full menu plan, recipes, and organized grocery list next week!
There are only 9 more days of this year, party people!
Iâve been enjoying the change in pace, routine, and scenery during this holiday season so far. In my downtime, Iâve indulged in forest bathing, lounged in a cozy A-frame cabin in the woods for a few days, worked on next yearâs specific plans, and reflected on this past year and how I want to switch things up in 2024.
My holiday indulgences this year have looked a bit different. Instead of pigging out non-stop, drinking too much, and buying too many mindless gifts, itâs more about expanding me-time (rest and space), lounging in my most comfy clothes around the clock (luxurious!), and I canât leave out our top Christmas movies, Elf and Home Alone. đ
Do you have a specific goal for 2024?
If I waved a magic wand and you can make one wish thatâs guaranteed to come true next year, what is your wish?
I know, I know, you probably have two, three, or ten wishes - join the club! đ Focus on the top one and letâs start there.
My top wish is to grow this community from its proud and humble beginnings and deeply impact more lives. Weâll be doing this by focusing on what the people want! Namely to slim down, heal inflammation that can lead to a whole host of negative things, and/or be inspired to stay on this path of eating well. From a tactical perspective, this calls for:
Healthy recipes that make us happy
Curated education thatâs distilled into a TLDR format for uncomplicated learning
Support and accountability to help each other live in congruence with our health goals and a future weâre excited about
I have many other wishes like to travel and have new experiences that pull me out of my day-to-day. More quality time with my little family and my closest friends. And further tightening my already good health state. (My full annual physical and blood results came back with flying colors despite my habits not being âperfectâ. Thank you plants! đ)
One of my greatest achievements has been connecting people to the world of plant-based nutrition and for them to be amazed by their results.
In honor of this, Iâm excited to open the doors to our community club!

Do it together.
If youâve ever felt the magic firsthand that is the saying, âteamwork makes the dream workâ, you know how special it is to do it together.
Doing it together is the difference between wanting to make a change to abundantly increasing the chances youâll actually do it.
Get a buddy (your Mom, your BFF, anyone semi-reliable!) and work together on a new habit. Practice in tandem (IRL or online) or have a weekly check-in and share whatâs working well.
Experiment, keep notes, and build your personalized ritual around this new habit. Take it slow and steady but commit and make a promise to yourself. When things donât go as planned, notice why and start up again immediately.
Spoiler alert: You may need to start up again and again. And again. This is simply part of the process. Embrace the journey and be proud of every step youâve made. Youâll never regret the effort you put into it.
Through repeated, consistent-enough habits that turn into rituals, youâll be amazed at how your life can change. Rituals are pleasurable, we almost crave them. More importantly, they increase our chances of keeping up our good habits because these are rituals personal to us. We created them. Eventually, we love them (especially their results). And we protect what we love.
This is what it means to have a new behavior become second nature. Through practice, repetition, and deepening those neural pathways, we automate our new skills.
This, my friend, is what it takes for transformation. Particularly in a food environment that does everything to steer us away from our ultimate health goals.
Whatever your wish is, partner up with someone in your life. Doing it together is the key for most of us to stick with any new habit and be amazed by the results. The same can happen for you!

Hereâs a sneak peek of the food and lesson topics:
Common mindsets đ§
I thought rice (and other starches) made me put on weight?
I heard that lentils and other beans/legumes are inflammatory. Is that true?
I donât really like veggies, I like flavor! I canât see myself liking this food.
My abilities in the kitchen are limited. Iâm not confident I can cook well.
My health has seen better days but I donât know where to start. This is overwhelming.
I have a big appetite and love to eat. How long can anyone realistically eat like this?
I can never give up bacon. Or cheese. (Good news, you donât have to. But I will ask you to cut down on how often you eat it if youâre pounding it back!) đ
Iâve tried to lose weight forever. I need something that works.
Iâve been bloated for many years and struggle with constipation.
Iâd love a private, judgment-free zone to talk about personal health issues.
To all of these statements shared with me, I have one thing to sayâŚ
Thatâs right - join the club!
If someone in your life could benefit from considering this, please share this email. đ
For now, Iâll be getting back to that blessed space in between this cozy holiday downtime and preparing for the fun weâll have in 2024.
Merry Christmas you filthy animal!
